Why I Love Twitter

I remember when I didn't want a Twitter page. I thought it was stupid. Why did I think it was stupid? Well... I can't remember. It was a stupid reason.

I guess I thought it was a fad. It was one of those things that I looked at and was like "this is just something that will blow over in a couple of months. Why should I join it?" This all changed when I met a group of people over the summer who all had Twitter accounts. I was kind of forced into this whole Twitter thing. And the rest as they say, is Twistory.

Wow. That was horrible. I'm so sorry about that. Ridiculous. Sorry.

Okay, so fast forward to today. I have since ditched the account I made over the summer (a personal account) and transformed into a business-orientated Twittering entity. I made the Twitter account to... well, honestly, to get traffic.

And that's why I love Twitter. I can promote Abscure as much as my little heart desires.
Twitter is like a game to me.

Every little thing I do makes me feel like it's going to help my site. Every person I follow, there's a chance they'll follow back. Every time I tweet, there's a chance that gets retweeted. There are so many options, so many positive outcomes.

The more effort I put into it, the better off I am. And that's something that will keep me happy for a while.

Now that I think about it, it's kind of like a videogame. You keep grinding, trying to get your stats up. Twitter is addicting. I have to keep getting followers, I have to keep tweeting. But although it's addicting, I'm gonna do it until there's no point in doing it anymore.

Whenever I see I have a new follower, or a new message of some sort, it's like leveling up or beating a level in a game. It's that reinforcement, that reward, that high that keeps me going.

Now that I put it this way, maybe it's not the healthiest habit. But we all need things to get us through our day. And that's what Twitter helps do for me.

Thanks for reading.

I started following this blog because of Twitter, so your efforts have not been in vain!
